Language Resources

Our organization, a 501c3 non-profit, is committed to helping all communities in raising bicultural children. Our work in this area is in the beginning phases and is dependent on our success in fundraising to support this work. Currently, Golestan is working on building the following resources:

  1. Online resource for bilingual families with articles and tips on how to successfully raise children whom are fluent in more than one language. This includes recommended resources, books, videos, and CDs (see below). These resources are intended to help parents and educators create an environment to support their efforts in raising bilingual children. Please click here to visit our language resource blog.

  2. Collective (workshops, film screenings etc) with other language immersion programs (Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, etc) for developing best teaching practices and shared resources - in development. Please email info@GolestanKids.com for more information.

  3. Support for other communities in need of a similar daily immersion programs for children including advice, shared resources, and curricula - in development. Please email info@GolestanKids.com for more information.

Below is a list of items that are consistent with our mission. The resources presented here are selected within the framework of Golestan's standards for quality and progressive materials and philosophies.

For adults interested in learning to speak Persian, please contact Ms. Shohreh Terman at ShohrehTerman@comcast.net or visit Farsi Without Tears online. Ms. Terman uses a full immersion approach; her results are astonishing!

"Golestan's advice on how to maintain a truly bilingual household has been invaluable. The easy to follow plan helped me transition to speaking solely Mandarin to my 7 year old boys within 2 days. Golestan's gift has truly changed our lives for the better." - Bicultural Taiwanese-American mother of 7 year old twin boys
