We are currently looking for:

Two or three qualified teacher's aide to assist with our daily preschool program.

Candidates should have prior experience teaching or caring for young children. Aide will need to follow the teacher's direction and subtle cues while taking initiative in managing the classroom (helping children, set up, clean up, maintenance). This is a collaborative position working closely with two teachers, one other teacher's aide, and the director of the organization.

This position can be developed into an internship or practical training for academic credit. This may also be of interest to a graduate student studying bilingual or bicultural education. Please email jobs@golestankids.com for immediate consideration.

One or two summer camp teachers

M-F 8 to 3 p.m. Must be willing to get dirty, engage a bunch of 6 to 9 year old children with humor and authority. Mut be handy (will build a playhouse with the kids out of adobe and mud) and athletic (will play soccer, lead hikes in the forest etc). Starts mid June through end of August.

For each of the positions described above, candidates must:

• Be fluent in Persian (Farsi).
• Have an innate or acquired gift with children; compassionate, warm, playful, nurturing…
• Possess a dedication to teaching young children proper Persian (Farsi) and Iranian culture.

One to five volunteers.

Days and hours flexible. Farsi/Persian speakers preferred but not requred.

One administrative intern

Unpaid, work-study, or academic credit. Days and hours flexible. Help with outreach, general administrative duties, grant research and/or writing, website maintenance, etc.
